Meet Our Dog Trainer: Miranda Genetti

Miranda Genetti was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard and was discharged as a disabled Veteran. Due to her injury, she became a certified dog trainer in May of 2016 with the help of the VA’s Vocational Rehabilitation program. She has competed in American Kennel Club (AKC) conformation dog shows from the age of 9 to the present. She’s competes with her own Miniature American Eskimo and Belgian Malinois, as well as showing other breeds for professional handlers. During the Purina National Dog Show, a dog show which was broadcasting on television for Thanksgiving Day, she won Best of Breed two years in a row!

Likewise, Miranda is currently competing with her Belgian Malinois. Elsa has titles in Rally, Obedience, Conformation, Trick Dog, Canine Good Citizen, and IGP. Koda has titles in Rally, Trick Dog, and IGP. Miranda also trains dogs for scent detection, evidence recovery, and agility. Additionally, she is able to teach all aspects of dog sports and is a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Trick dog evaluator. Miranda and her dogs have also become a member of the AKC’s canine ambassador program doing free community programs to teach everyone about dogs. So with all of her dog and puppy training experience, she is working to train service dogs that comply with the ADA and ADI guidelines here at K9 Institute. The canines she trains are the perfect service animals, and she's happy to help them become all they can be.
